cut down a tree
The easiest way to obtain the sap is to cut down the trees. Players can find trees around the farm or deep into the Cider Forest. To chop down a tree, the player needs to stand next to the tree with an ax in hand, and hold down the left mouse button until the tree falls, producing wood and sap at the same time.
The player should also make sure to break the stump; otherwise, the tree will not grow back. Once cut down, normal trees outside the farm have a 20% chance to regrow into stage 3 trees overnight.

Mahogany trees can be grown using mahogany seeds and will produce sap daily. To extract sap from these trees, the player can tap them with a normal or heavy tapper. After crafting a Tapper in Stardew Valley, the player can select it and click on the tree to place it.
